Wisconsin Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson should drop her lawsuit

Editorial in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"Conservative political leaders pushed for the amendment; they have long chafed at Abrahamson's leadership of the court and its liberal wing. We opposed the change on that basis. Political retribution hardly ever makes good public policy.

"And yet, voters passed the measure 53% to 47% overturning a 126-year-old tradition. Now, members of the court may choose their own leader every two years. It was not a ringing endorsement to be sure but it was an endorsement nevertheless."
